Mastodon

Mastodon is a decentralised social networking service made up of independently operated servers. Users choose a server and can follow accounts and conversations across the wider network. The official project website explains how the service works and provides app and server information, making it a useful starting point before choosing where to create an account.

The useful starting point is the people, community or subject a visitor wants to follow. Its main functions include Decentralised social networking, Server discovery and Official apps and project information, helping distinguish the kinds of shared spaces, published material and interaction available through this particular platform.

The official Mastodon site includes sections for Servers.

The linked official iOS listing is Mastodon, published by Mastodon GmbH. The Australian App Store page provides the current description, device compatibility and version information for that application. It is a useful reference when identifying the mobile product associated with this website.
